"Only the disciplined are truly free."
— Might GuyCommunity Guidelines
This article outlines the official community policy that all users are expected to follow to help maintain a peaceful, engaging, and welcoming space for everyone.
Inside, you'll find a clear breakdown of behaviors and actions that may result in a warning, mute, or ban, depending on the severity of the violation.
Our moderation team carefully reviews each case to ensure fair judgment. The otakuu Team reserves the right to take action against users who exploit the platform or disrupt the community through disrespectful or harmful behavior.
Moderative Actions
These define actions taken on your account in response to rule violations.
- Ban: Issued for serious or repeated violations of our Community Guidelines.
- Mute: Issued for minor or first-time violations.
A Ban permanently removes access to all community features, including locking and pausing your Watchlist.
A Mute temporarily restricts your ability to participate in community discussions. Your Watchlist is not affected.
Notified Reason
When a moderative action is applied, the user will receive a notification stating the reason. The categories include:
- Spam: Excessive or disruptive posting, flooding reply threads or chats.
- Abuse: Misuse of features such as ZRC farming or manipulating ranks.
- Other: Includes harassment, hate speech, or any behavior violating community standards.
Anti-Spam & Fair Play Rules
- English is the Official Language: Comments, discussions, and posts must be in English to maintain readability for all users, while also giving moderators the leeway to apply correct moderation when seen necessary.
- No Farming or Spamming for Coins (ZRC): Posting solely to earn coins is prohibited. Spamming will result in Ban/mute accordingly. Repetitive or excessive posting in a short time is considered spam.
- Low-Effort & Meaningless Comments Are Not Allowed: Avoid one-word replies like "Done", "Nice", "First" or "Started at X Date". These types of comments don't add value to the conversation.
- Do Not Beg for Likes or Engagement: Comments or Posts like "Like if you agree" or "Help me get to 100 likes!" are not allowed. They disrupt natural engagement.
- No Exploiting the Reply System for Coins: Replying as a means to create long chains of uninterrupted & idle chat between the same user's just to rack up ZRC, is not allowed.
- No Coordinated Like-Farming Schemes: Don't organize groups, ask others to like your comment or create alternate accounts with the intent to promote your primary account's rank or ZRC.
- No Community Competitions That Encourage Spamming: Avoid challenges or games that require users to spam comments or likes to participate.
- No "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) Type Posts: Comment sections or community posts aren't meant for AMA-style discussions. Use Live Chat instead.
- Don't Spam GIFs in Live Chat: Overloading chats with spamming GIFs makes conversations hard to follow and frustrating. Keep the use of GIFs in moderate use.
- Protect Your Account, Protect Your Data: Your account is personal, keep it safe. Never share your login credentials or personal information with others.
- Respect Everyone – No Toxicity: Be kind. Insults, bullying, harassment, or personal attacks will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
- Keep Discussions Spoiler-Free (or Use Spoiler Tags): Don't ruin shows for others. Always use spoiler tags when discussing plot points.
- No NSFW or Offensive Content: This includes posting of explicit, graphic, disturbing, or overly sexual content. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated.
- No Sexualizing or Harassing Minors: Any form of sexualization of children, including lolicon, shotacon, or cub content, is strictly prohibited.
- No Controversial or Offensive Discussions: Avoid sensitive topics (e.g., sex, religion, politics, gender, race). This is a place to enjoy and discuss your favourite anime's.
- No Inappropriate Usernames: Usernames that contain offensive words, sexual content, slurs, or impersonate staff members/team are not allowed.
- No External Links or Self-Promotion: Sharing links to other anime sites, social media accounts, or businesses is prohibited. Keep the focus here!
- No Advertisements: You're free to share your Discord ID to connect with friends but linking to external, 3rd party servers is not allowed, this includes other social platforms as well.
Moderation & Rule Enforcement
- Respect Moderator Decisions: Admins and Moderators reserve the right to take action on your content. Do not argue or harass them. Treat the staff with respect. Pretending to be an Admin or a Moderator is prohibited.
- Be the Eyes of the Community: While our moderation team works to maintain a welcoming, fair, and respectful space, your support plays a key role in keeping our community at its best. We trust our members to help by reporting any rule violations they encounter.
- "I Didn't Mean It That Way" is Not an Excuse: We moderate based on how your comment affects you and others—not just your intention. Even if something wasn't meant to offend, if it causes harm, it still counts as a violation.
- Reporting Rule Violations: To help keep the community safe, report user's with clear proof (i.e. Screenshots). As of current time, user reports should be delivered through our official Discord support channel so our team can review them properly.
Ban & Appeal System
- Zero Tolerance for Repeat Offenders: We believe in second chances but if a user continues to break the rules after warnings or mutes, stronger actions may be taken, including bans. We're here to help you stay part of the community, not push you out.
- Bans Can Be Appealed via Discord: Suspended accounts are authorized to appeal through our official Discord support channel. However, keep in mind, second bans are rarely overturned and are typically permanent.
- Final Rule: Moderator Discretion Applies: Not every situation can be predicted or listed here. In such cases, moderators have the authority to use their judgment to take action that protects the communities best interest. Respect their decisions, they're here to help maintain a safe and positive space.
